2nd Semester

I can't believe my 1st semester in DLSU is almost ending. I have a lot more but my mind can't even comprehend how fast the my first 3 months were in school. I guess I was really that busy with school. Well, I just got my second sem schedule from my block mate since we're automatically enrolled til the 2nd sem. I still can't believe it. Everything's so fast.

Hidden Valley Springs

For our Scienvb (Biology) subject, we had to go to Hidden Valley Springs in Alaminos, Laguna for some fieldwork. We were suppose to observe the ecosystem and different organisms that were present in the area.

I was pretty happy that I was group mates with all the girls this time. Most of the time, I'm the one who's separated with the group and it feels nice that I get to spend some time with them.

By the time that we all boarded the bus, suspensions in different schools were already being announced but we still continued. (College na daw eh. HAHAHAHA) Btw, I just got pictures from different people. It was a pretty good idea that I didn't bring my camera.

Can you notice my massive eye bags? HAHAHA Obvious that I woke up extra early for this trip. With my beautiful seat mate + future debutant, Bianca with Enzo the annoying and Miguel at the back. Hihi :)

It was raining the whole entire time and can I just say that I haven't been so annoyed with water in my whole entire life? When we arrived, the first thing we had to do was walk into the middle of nowhere (more like a jungle) to plant some trees. Oh, and it was raining. RAINING HARD.

With my umbrella buddy, Enzo. Hihi thanks for not letting me fall (literally) on the muddy, muddy jungle. Hahaha!

RIP my white keds :(

After all that mud, we had to trek all over the mountain to look for the falls that the place is popular for. It actually reminded me of Biak-na-Bato since you had to stay at the side of the mountain. Can I just mention that I easily get mesmerized with bodies of water?

how annoying..

After all that hard work, we got to swim in the very beautiful pool! Gosh, it was so beautiful cause the water was warm. Rain + warm pool water = Relaxation. I'm also happy that I got to bond with my girls & block mates more cause of this field trip. :)

Procrastination & Motivation

It's been exactly a month since school started and honestly, I've been having a blast. I'm not sure if it's just the schedule or if I've been taking this too lightly. For the past month, I've been having two major problems. Procrastination & my Motivation.

I remember last year that I didn't talk about anything else but express my excitement for college and how I'll work hard and all. But what happened? I've been so chill.  I have so much stuff to do.

My laptop's full of sticky notes of what I need to accomplish. My subjects are killing me. If I'm not reading 5+ pages of readings, I'll be writing down reaction papers or editing presentations or interviewing for research. I'm not complaining. I could not be happier.

Okay, I know I'm not making any sense anymore. I think I just need some time for myself. I just joined a dance group and a political org in DLSU and combine that with studies, I don't think I haven't had any more time with myself. I need one day by myself or with a buddy to spend in town to have a manipedi, the usual lunch, some shopping and something to relax ourselves. College has been draining the living life out of me but I'm happy.

I need motivation.
Something to stop my procrastination.

Birthdays

3 of my closest block mates celebrated their birthdays in a span of one week. This week was full of activities and honestly I had so much fun! If you've been reading my past blog posts, you'll know how much I love these group of people and how grateful I am for them.

Last Thursday, my best guy buddy celebrated his 17th birthday at Beach!

Happy Birthday, Enzo!

This guy is the sweetest! I remember when I first met this guy, he used to be so quiet and I'd always tease him for being anti-social. Well, he proved me wrong because he'd always end up sitting next to me and talking to one another. Sometimes he'd text me about the most random things and he'd call me which is sometimes really annoying because he'd end up reading the readings for one of our subjects to me. Even if you're a year younger than me, I'd still think you're pretty retarded (-- ano connect...) Well anyways, happy birthday again Enzo buddy! :)

Sarah celebrated her also 17th birthday last Monday and sadly I don't have a picture of us during the celebration. But fortunately (well, not for me) she's super addicted to photo booth and my laptop is full of her different faces. HAHAHA love you, Sarah baby!

Sarah is one of the craziest people in the block. Too bad she's part of the other half of the block so she's separated from us whenever we have our math appreciation and fit well class. Nonetheless, I love this girl to bits! She's always there for you whenever you have stories to tell her. She's also my cutting/gala buddy. Hahaha, super grateful for this girl because she never fails to make me smile and laugh. Happy 17th Birthday again, Girl! Time out soon! Mwah!

Last but not the least, Vjohn! Vjohn's birthday was last Wednesday but we celebrated it yesterday. Bongga celebration because our group went to Rockwell to watch Kimmy Dora 2 (which btw is 10000x funnier whenever you're with a group of friends who don't do anything but laugh at the most little possible thing). After that, we went to Rockwell Club to eat. I love the place and Vjohn just really made the whole thing really special.

Vjohn came from LSGH and it's surprising that he's always with us group of girls (except for Enzo cause he always gets lost doing something else) Vjohn's the sweetest guy and he's like our daddy. Super thankful for him also because you can also tell him about everything and his laugh is always the funniest. This guy is really born to be a leader cause aside from being the block's president, he also used to be the president for LSGH's student council. Love you, BIHON!

And lastly, I'm just trying to procrastinate. I've been staying in One Archer's for a week now and right now, I feel so lonely. I have tons of school work to do and I haven't started on anything yet.

Love,
Isay the college girl

Top Ten IMBA Tips: Pampatanggal Kaba

Taken from DLSU Frosh Tips

IMBA Tips:

Pampatanggal Kaba Tips Top Ten!

1.) Siguraduhing bago pumasok ng school, MALIGO! (Mga Pre at Mare, kaya kayo kinakabahan makipag-usap, socialize or whatsoever sa La Salle eh binabaliwala niyong maligo. Pampadagdag confidence kapag talagang mabango ka umaga palang.)

APIR! Cheers! <3 LOVE

The DLSU Frosh

Countdown: 23 days

For those going to De La Salle University this coming May, we only have 23 days until our first day in college.  Enrollment and LPEP starts next week and I'm honestly excited and nervous for the upcoming weeks.

I'm pretty lucky because I have a lot of friends also studying there and they tend to give me first hand tips on how to survive being the so called "Frosh". So far I've learned 5 important things.

1) Line up for the elevator early
Like 10-20 minutes early. And they're not exaggerating. When I went to the Bro. Andrew building during my confirmation, you could really see how long the lines were for the elevator. So if you don't wanna waste the number of your lates, line up early. Unless you wanna use the stairs, that's healthy too.

2) Bring an umbrella
The weather in Manila is pretty unpredictable. It wouldn't hurt to have that retractable umbrella inside your bag. Better safe than sorry.

3) Be street smart
I'll be commuting going to and from school everyday and it's pretty dangerous out there. When commuting, try to put money in different places (like the pockets in your pants, wallet, coin purse and another pocket in your bag) Just in case you get robbed, you'll still have some money to get you home.

4) Dress appropriately
You're labeled as a frosh because they know for a fact that freshmen tend to dress up better than upperclassmen. It's not bad. It's just that you stand out. Again, it ain't bad. And you wouldn't want to be stuck in a situation where you're so annoyed because you're uncomfortable with what you're wearing.

5) Don't get lazy
You: Papasok ka ba?
Friend: Hindi.
You: Sige, tambay na lang tayo.
You're free now. But just regulate it.

So anyways, I'm no college expert. It's just what I picked up. But here are some sites which can actually help you. :)

And Kyawi Medina's Tumblr post :) Tips for the DLSU Frosh

Enjoy! See you guys inside campus!

Just before the big day

After our Baccalaureate Mass, I went to Town with Maica to get our nails done in CANS. I just noticed that we do almost everything together. -_- Can't believe we've been best friends since Freshmen Year! Look at us now! We're graduating tomorrow!

We got the same nail polish. Nude! Since her dress will be orange and mine will be purple.
FACT: I never got a perfect mani/pedi ever in my life because one way or the other, there will be something to mess it up while it's still wet.

Remember my hair problem? Well, yeah say good bye to my long hair! Because I chopped it off.. It's actually longer than the length that I originally wanted. I have this habit of cutting my hair whenever "something" comes up. Maybe next time. ;)
After the grad practice yesterday, we went to Regine's in Town to get our haircut. Originally, it was only suppose to be Maica but since I was there, I got one too! :)

FACT #2: I never had my nails and hair done in town ever in my whole entire life so what happened today and yesterday was a first for me. HIHIH And it all had to be with Maica. HAHA LOVE YOU!

FACT #3: One of the first things that we did together in Senior Year was to get our blood samples at the same time. And I almost fainted because of that. :(

And of course, we look like twins.... -_- Except that I have brown hair.

Woohoo! 4 years of friendship for us! Freshmen Buddies!

I also got to reunite with my trio during Freshmen year! It was Franco, Maica and I. Okay, Jej na kami.. We used to call ourselves the Gangster Trio...-_- HAHAHAHA JEJ NA JEJ

Jej forever and always. Our first fair as high school students.. HAHAH

I also saw Danni's Grad Ball Proposal to Luis last Wednesday in CPK! Uber cute! Sorry for the blurry pictures. :(

Tomorrow's the big day!
Just a sneak peek with my seatmate, Joey!

Baccalaureate Mass

We had our Baccalaureate Mass this morning in the CPA and I could not believe that it was our last Zobel Mass. I could honestly say that I took that Mass very seriously especially with my seatmate, Dimple. :)
After the mass, Bro Den had a small speech for us. It was from Philippians 4:13.

He said that there was a farmer and his horse fell down a well. Knowing that this horse wouldn't get out of the well and would probably die. So the farmer got a shovel and started to throw dirt and soil into the well. Of course, the horse went hysterical. With the willingness to survive, every time that the farmer will throw soil into his back, the horse shaked it off and stepped up. Every time the farmer will do that, he would just shake it off and step up. He kept doing that until he reached the top of the well and stood there tired but triumphant.

He said that we could all relate to this. In all of our problems, all we need to do is shake it off and step up until we succeed. I guess the grade school and high school graduating students can all relate to that. Even though how prepared we may be for the next chapter of our lives, there will always be problems that will stop us in our paths. So all we need to do is to shake it off and step up.
