#HoorayForMondays Free Mcdo Coffee!

I never really liked drinking coffee back in high school. It gave me bad breath and I felt like an old person. When I got to college, I felt like it was my life saver! Whenever I'd stay up late writing papers and reading articles for class, I would just HAVE to make myself a cup of coffee. When I need a simple mood booster (especially on Mondays), I'd run to a Starbucks which is too expensive for my student budget.

Every Monday, McDonald’s will make you say “Hooray for Mondays” by giving customers a free cup of McCafe Premium Roast Coffee at ALL McDonald’s breakfast stores nationwide!
All you have to do is visit any McDonald’s store nationwide every Friday to Sunday to get your free coffee coupons. Present your coupons at any McDonald’s breakfast store on all Mondays of January and February from 4:00am to 10:30am to enjoy your free cup either dine-in, take out, or drive thru.
So if you’re a coffee lover, and you dread Mondays, start your day with the smooth and full-bodied taste of 100% premium Arabica beans in every cup of McCafe Premium Roast Coffee.
Oh, and don’t forget to like McDonald’s on Facebook or follow them via Twitter for more updates! #HoorayForMondays

The Taft Food Experience

The only reason why I gained so much weight in college: the Taft food experience. The first thing on my agenda when I got to DLSU was to try all the food stalls and also the restaurants that surrounded it. Now here's my list (so far) of go to places whenever I feel like eating a light snack or gobbling my way til my next class starts.
  1. Jus & Jerry's – you'd usually find me sitting here with my friends while waiting for my next class to start. It's located at the back of the EGI tower and I'd usually go here since this is where the fast wifi is. It's cheap and yummy chinese food and maybe you'd just catch a glimpse of the gwapo owner who works behind the counter. (Not really sure if he's Jus or if he's Jerry though)

  2. Rap's – a steak house where you can order a regular steak that is as big as your plate for only 140 pesos and also for their buttery gravy that they serve you by the jugs! Pour it on your sauce and add some Worstershire sauce and voila! Fatty goodness here I come!

  3. Bagnet – located at the back of the Providence tower, this resto serves you Bagnet, the Ilocano version of crispy pata, in different ways. They serve it sisig style, sinigang and my favorite, Kare-kareng bagnet! The price is worth the taste and if you're lucky (or a die hard music fan) you may catch some bands practicing at the 2nd floor of the building.

  4. Goodles – located at the 2nd floor of the University Mall, it's kind of hidden from the public eye since it's tucked away in one of the nooks of the mall. It has this creative kick to it and they serve their pasta in creative ways and in cute cups. I first went there with my blockmates to eat while waiting for a talk in school one late night and I discovered that they serve pretty large servings! My favorite there is the Basic Meat which is Lasagna and is packed with Mozerella that stretches when you get to pull that first scoop of pasta out! Perfect to share with your friends or even with a date.

  5. Lunchbox – A korean resto located in the EGI Tower that serves cheap meals. My fave there is the Tonkatsu mayo which I add more mayo to it (hehe fatty goodness). Perfect to do your papers there after eating.

  6. Mrs. Friedrice – A Zobel original and is know back there as Mr. Friedrice. But now it seems that it got married with a new name and is a go to place for a very cheap rice meal located in Agno. My fave there is the Beef with 2 pieces of croquettes. The store is very close to my heart since I used to buy food from there back when I was about to run our of money in every Zobel Fair.
I also found a map filled with the restos that surround Taft from a blog of a foodie! (http://geloreyes.tumblr.com/post/21780904754/a-gastronomic-guide-map-to-taft-ave)

There are a lot of food stalls to eat in and around DLSU but these are my top go to places. If you wanna find me, I'm probably in one of these places. If there a new places that deserve to be included here, don't be shy to tell me!

Gift Ideas: Gigi Gaerlan's Custaroons

For Christmas, one of my titas gave us a box of this divine dessert that must be shared to the whole world! It's not just your regular custard and also not just your boring macaroons but it's both! (hahaha I'm sorry that was so lame). But they're really good I swear!

Gigi Gaerlan's custaroons is a “unique combination of smooth and creamy flan topped with a chewy, buttery crust”. Unfortunatly she doesn't have her own store where you can drop by and buy all her goodies at once. But you can order from her online and she delivers around the Makati area every Mondays and Thursdays after 1pm, in The Custaroonery in 188 E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave. Bagumbayan, Quezon City or even in 46 Tomas Arguelles Street Sta. Mesa, Manila

She doesn't just have plain custaroons but she also sells cheese custaroons, le petit squares and lots more! A dozen of her custaroons are sold for only P300!

Visit www. Custaroons.com for more details or call her up and to finally get a hand on her delectable desserts!

Can't find a place to eat?

My usual problem with my friends is that we can't decide on a place to eat in or we try to look for a new place to eat in but we really don't know where. Well, here's a new website for you.

www.wherethefuckshouldieat.com

It actually reminds me of the website that you can ask if there's school or not. Haha so you give your location and it gives you a place to eat at. You can use it if you can't decide on a place to eat. Once it gives you the location, just shut up and eat there. I know it's pretty explicit with all the "fuck" words it says but it's actually pretty funny.

It won't be Christmas without Fruit Salad

One of the highlights of my Christmas is making Fruit Salad with my Lola. But since recently she's been getting old and tired easily, she told me to make it with my sister, Queenie.

I find it really fun since it's just really easy and it turns out really tummy bustingly good. :)

Christmas Fruit Salad

Ingredients:
4 Cans of Fruit Coctail in Heavy Syrup
2 Cans of Pineapple Chunks
1 bottle of Kaong
1 bottle of Nata de Coco
3 Apples (chopped into bite size chunks)
4 packs of Nestle Cream
2 Cans of Condensed Milk
1 box of Cheese (chopped into smalls bits)

Steps:
1) Drain all the syrup out of the Fruit Coctail, Pineapple, Kaong and Nata de Coco. Make sure that there's barely any syrup left so it won't become soupy at the end.
2) Soak the Apple chunks in the Fruit Coctail syrup so it would have some flavor and drain it also after.
3) Mix Everything together!!! (which is actually the fun part) ;)
4) Place in a big container and freeze it overnight

It usually lasts from 1-3 weeks! Perfect to eat for Noche Buena and it can also last until New Year! Share this with your family and they'll surely love it :)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! ♥
